Desk-Top
Pojo Application Server
The desktop application for Harbor, again demonstrates just how powerful the concept of Coherent Diffusion® is (its just a Harbor application), but it does some terrific things.
- Lists all the applications on a Harbor server.
- Allows one to install, reinstall, and run applications.
- Allows one to run POJO executables on MS desktops, i.e. you can present "EXE" packages to users, which they just drop into a folder and double click.
- Allows one to easily create MS shortcuts, so not only can one start Harbor apps from the browser or the Active Desktop, users can have shortcuts in the Start menu or on the MS desktop. Your Harbor apps run from anywhere.
- Allows one to set up an Active Directory of other Harbor servers, so that the user automatically discovers all the Harbor servers in your organization (world).
- Supports digitally signing applications.
- Allows one to spy an applications, you can watch what an application does on your machine, if you dont like what its doing, you can abort it.
The best way to learn, is to just load it up and click away, right click for short cuts. The only real concept that one needs to grasp is that its a learning system.
As one uses it, it discovers other servers, when you run/load applications on those servers, it collects them for you.The browser version, does not have all the functionality of the active desktop, and works differently. The browser will load up and start the application, the Active desktop will load up the application, and let the user check it out before running it.
The readme.txt files in the applications Ship folder, explain how file association, icons, and descriptions are configured.
The Desktop has...
